The Prophecies About King Cyrus

By Prophet Isaiah

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,

And He who formed you from the womb:

"I am the Lord, who makes all things,

Who stretches out the heavens all alone,

Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;

Who frustrates the signs of the babblers,

And drives diviners mad;

Who turns wise men backward,

And makes their knowledge foolishness;

Who confirms the word of His servant,

And performs the counsel of His messengers;

Who says to Jerusalem, 'You shall be inhabited,'

To the cities of Judah, 'You shall be built,'

And I will raise up her waste places; rmed you from the womb:

"I am the Lord, who makes all things,

And I will dry up your rivers';

Who says of Cyrus , 'He is My shepherd,

And he shall perform all My pleasure,

Saying to Jerusalem,"You shall be built,"

And to the temple, "Your foundation shall be laid."'

"Thus says the Lord to His anointed,

To Cyrus , whose right hand I have held —

To subdue nations before him

And loose the armor of kings,

To open before him the double doors,

So that the gates will not be shut:

'I will go before you

And make the crooked places straight;

I will break in pieces the gates of bronze

And cut the bars of iron.

I will give you the treasures of darkness

And hidden riches of secret places,

That you may know that I, the Lord,

Who call you by your name,

Am the God of Israel.

For Jacob My servant's sake,

And Israel My elect,

I have even called you by your name;

I have named you, though you have not known Me.

I am the Lord, and there is no other;

There is no God besides Me.

I will gird you, though you have not known Me,

That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting

That there is none besides Me.

I am the Lord, and there is no other;

I form the light and create darkness,

I make peace and create calamity;

I, the Lord, do all these things.'

"Rain down, you heavens, from above,

And let the skies pour down righteousness;

Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation,

And let righteousness spring up together.

I, the Lord, have created it.

Good Works Of King Cyrus

Hananiah: Number 2 reason was because King Cyrus was hearing and obeying what God was saying. Therefore, God was revealing various things to him.

Himself saw, understood, why God sent him to the world to do – because of the city and Temple of Jerusalem; to make the people of God, the Israelites, return to Israel.

God Was In Control

Hananiah: But when King Nebuchadnezzar was bearing children, he did not know that he would begot a child who would make the Israelites return to Jerusalem.

“king’s heart is in the hands of God ”

King Nebuchadnezzar went and brought the Israelites as captives on exile in Babylon. And God, through his grandson, King Cyrus, sent the Israelites back to Israel.

Self-Knowledge

Hananiah: King Cyrus understood his work of renovations and restorations, to do the will of God.

Sincerely, he brought out his heart, and said to God, “I give you myself.” Head: Which means that he did his work willingly and readily.

Unlike many kings and mayors of the present and modern generations; unlike many presidents and governors; and unlike many governments and leaderships, who do not want to know the reason why God placed them in various government and leadership positions.

They are busy doing their own personal opinions, and even frustrating, disorganizing the good works of the Almighty; and persecuting the people of God. They are misguided leaders, who are deceiving multitudes. They are ignorant men and women, who stand as leaders and very important personalities, but are ignorant hypocrites and noisemakers, who should be very well beaten and flogged with the canes.
